Devon Building Control Partnership (DBCP) provides Building Control Services across three Local Authorities - Teignbridge and South Hams District Councils and West Devon Borough Council - covering an area of 1,050 square miles, with over 84 miles of coastline between Exeter and Plymouth and services a population of 257,000 people.

Our large team of Chartered Surveyors and Building Engineers, belonging to RICS, CABE or CIOB and managing over 2700 projects each year between them, enables DBCP to boast an enormous depth of knowledge, experience and in-house expertise on a range of building activities. Our vast local knowledge of ground conditions and building history is highly valuable to many customers and can help save time and cost on many projects.  Warranty information is listed below.

DBCP is a not-for-profit organisation which ensures high value. Everyone is encouraged to discuss their application with us at the design or planning stage for a charge. 

Our surveyors will arrange to meet at your office or on site to discuss proposals.  Inspection programmes are designed around your needs and to suit bespoke site project conditions. Our skills base enables extended consultation on a range of topics including energy performance, soil contamination, fire engineering and access audits. Other specialist services including acoustics and fire risk assessments can be arranged. DBCP works in close collaboration with Plymouth, Cornwall, Torbay and other Local Authorities in the South West.

Warranty Providers

Two warranty providers we work closely with for new dwellings are LABC Warranty and Global Home Warranties.

LABC Warranty has worked in partnership with Local Authority Building Control (LABC) to provide structural warranties since 2007. The unique partnership with LABC means that together we can provide building control and warranties throughout England and Wales using the combined technical expertise of over 3,500 surveyors.
They have been providing warranty cover for over 10 years, working with some of the largest housebuilders and commercial contractors in the country. All of their policies are underwritten by 'A' rated global insurers, ensuring you and your buyers are protected for the duration of the policy. As a founding member of the Consumer Code for Home Builders homebuyers will benefit from having the added protection offered by the code. Global Home Warranties arrange “A” Rated, 10 or 12 year, Latent Defect Insurance and Bonds for residential, mixed use, conversion, commercial and social housing projects. Their RICS/CIOB-qualified Surveyors follow comprehensive, multi-stage inspection processes which forms part of their targeted risk management programme.
