Site Inspections 

As we continue living with the COVID-19 Corona Virus, and the extremely busy workload we are experiencing, we have adapted our inspection arrangements for works under construction. 

In the first instance, please continue to notify us of each inspection stage by sending an email to mail@devonbuildingcontrol.gov.uk or phoning us on 01626 215793. Your visit request will be triaged and a surveyor will advise if a site inspection will be undertaken or alternate measures requested. This may involve submitting a series of detailed photographs for assessment or undertaking a 'virtual' site inspection. When submitting photographs please also provide your phone number and your application reference number.  The photos must include a panorama/overview of the site, external elevations, elements of construction and a brief description of what each photograph illustrates. When surveyors visit site, please ensure social distancing measures are observed.  If you think you might have the virus or are self-isolating this must be disclosed and no inspection will be undertaken.

In the meantime we will continue to deal with full plans submissions as normal and are happy to assist with any pre-application or general technical enquiries.
